Tangle Teezer.

Today I'm going to talk about one of the great loves of my life, without which I don't know what I'd do with myself. Before this particular product came into my life I had half a head less hair and a half an hour battle with my hair every time I wanted to brush it.
My Tangle Teezer makes the process of brushing my curly and knotty hair a much less painful and time consuming affair, which also means I brush my hair much more often that I used too. Brushing your hair is actually good for increasing blood circulation in your head and stimulating hair growth. It's also especially good since my ombred/dipdyed hair is prone to breakages.
I was also recently mind-blown when I discovered you can actually open it up and store things (such as bobby pins and hairbands) in it and it became even more appealing to me which seemed impossible. So if you're 'umm-ing' and 'aah-ing' about whether you should get one. Do It. You won't regret it. It's the best £11 I've ever spent.

Do you have a Tangle Teezer? What do you think?

Motcomb Street.

Don't you love when magazines give out amazing freebies?
I got this full size Nails inc. nail polish in the colour Motcomb Street, which is normally £11, with Glamour magazine and I couldn't wait to try it out. Magazines are always giving away cool things like this, I even saw one magazine giving away sample size Benefit They're Real mascara the other day, which there has been a ridiculous amount of hype about but is SO expensive! So keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to have a sneaky look at the magazine rack when you go to the shops.

I loved the colour of this, it's a really dark blue, it almost looks black.

What's the best freebie you've ever gotten?

Virgin Mojito Madness.

So I'm not a drinker but after hearing how amazing mojitos were from multiple sources I decided I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and so I found a recipe for a non alcoholic version online and decided to have a crack at it. I have to say, it was mint (haha, get it?...). I thought I'd share this lovely recipe for those of you who might fancy a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage this spring/summer.

For one glass:
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 1/2 glass of lemonade
- 1/4 glass of apple juice
- 3/4 sprigs of mint
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1 lime

Method:
1. Rip up you mint and mash it up with the sugar and a small amount of apple juice, add this to the glass along with the ice.
2. Add half a glass of lemonade and the rest of the apple juice.
3. Cut the lime in half, and squeeze half the lime into the glass, cut 2 lime slices from the other half and put one into the glass and one on the rim of the glass (this makes it pretty).
4. Squeeze the remaining lime in the glass.

You can always adjust the quantities of the ingredients such as mint and lime depending on your taste and what you like.
And it really is as simple as that.
Enjoy!

Let me know if you try it out.

Aim For The Moon.

The other day my friend and I were catching up over a coffee as she was back from uni for a bit. We were talking about the nice things that people spontaneously do for others, from holding a door open and smiling at someone you walk past, to paying the coffee bill of the person behind you at Starbucks. I don't think people do nice things like this enough anymore and it's so sad, if you smile at most people in London when you walk past them they'd probably think you're bonkers. We were inspired to do something nice no mater how small, so I suggested leaving an inspirational quote behind, as disgustingly cheesey as it sounded, I liked the idea of someone who was having a bad day being cheered up by it, or it giving hope to someone who was losing their dreams. I know it would have made me smile had I found it. So we did it, and we agreed to do it whenever we went to coffee with each other from that day on.

Why don't you do something nice for someone today?

Tick Tock.

Since I've been travelling recently and I'm starting uni soon, I don't want to have to get out my phone every time I need to know the time. Now I've been lusting after those Michael Kors watches as much as the next lady, but unfortunately my budget doesn't quite stretch that far. I found this watch sitting around in my house but the strap was broken so I went to a shop where there were LOADS of new, different straps to choose from. I thought it was brilliant, if you get tired of your watch, or find an old one lying around you can go and practically get a completely new watch, and the best part, it only cost about £15. I picked a black faux croc-skin effect one, it goes with everything and I think it looks really vintagey and cool!

Excuse the eyliner swatches on my hand.

So the next time you think of going to buy a new watch but are a little strapped for cash, have a bit of a rummage around to see if you have an old watch first and just get a new strap!

Black & Gold.

I've been loving black and gold jewellery recently, I think it's so simple, classic and goes with just about anything. I've also been layering up the bracelets to give me some arm candy! These are the pieces I wore the other day.

Ombre Nails.

So I tried out these ombre nails and was so surprised at how simple they were.
What you need:
- 2 different coloured nail polish
- A small sponge

What to do:
1. Paint the base colour on all your nails as if you were just painting your nails one colour and wait until they are completely dry (this is very important!).
2. Paint the second colour onto the sponge, don't put too much nail polish on the sponge or it wont work.
3. Using a light hand, dab the sponge on your nail starting at the top of the nail and moving to around halfway down the nail, use a lighter hand as you move down the nail.
4. Proceed to do this on the rest of the nails.
5. Clean the skin around your nails with a cotton bud and some nail polish remover.
It's a little fiddly at first but you get the hang of it and it looks pretty cool.

Let me know if you try this out!

Outfit.

A sneaky peek at what I wore today, and you can see my cheeky Primark bag too...

Newspaper Nails #2.

So I had a crack at doing newspaper nails again only with a different base colour, they turned out a bit better than last time. If you want to look at my blogpost where I explain how I do these nails click here.

Have you ever tried doing these? How did they turn out?

Essie.

I never thought I could face buying and £8 nail varnish no matter how much people raved about them so I just sighed in admiration whenever I passed them in Boots and Superdrug, that is until I discovered xtras. I saw a heard a youtuber talking about how they sold Essie nail polishes and other products such as makeup for less. It did seem a little too good to be true but I decided to take the plunge and order 2, they were £3.99 each after all! I also found a discount code and got another 15% off and delivery was free. Sure enough a couple of days later they arrived, brand new and brilliant quality. They definitely were worth the hype. The brush makes them so easy to apply and the formula dries quickly which is good for me as I am terrible at not smudging my nails after I do them. Also, the colours are beautiful!

The colour on the left is 'Bikini So Teeny' and on the right is 'Mojito Madness'.

Have you tried Essie nail polish? What did you think?

P.S. I've heard fragrance direct sells Essie nail polish for £1.99!

Charity Shop Find: Jaeger

So I went for a wander in a few of my local charity shops the other day and discovered a right beauty for a mere £9.99. I don't know why anyone would give away this timeless tan jacket which is absolutely perfect for spring. I jumped up and down a bit and ran to the counter to pay for it before someone tackled me to the ground to nab it, OK that may be a slight exaggeration but I'm pretty chuffed with my buy.

What's been your best charity shop find?
